Restore your roofline — inside and out

Soffit & Fascia Cleaning

The soffits and fascias around your roofline are some of the most visible parts of your home from the street — and they're the first to show green algae, black streaking, and weathering. We clean them using a low-pressure softwash method with biodegradable solutions that lift biological growth without damaging or warping your uPVC.

Common questions

Will softwashing damage my uPVC?
No. We specifically avoid high-pressure washing on uPVC rooflines — the force can crack, warp, or discolour the plastic and drive water behind the boards into the roof space. Our softwash approach uses biodegradable solutions at low pressure, which are effective on biological growth and completely safe for uPVC surfaces.
Why do soffits and fascias get so green and dirty?
Britain's damp climate creates ideal conditions for algae and mould to grow on any outdoor surface. North and east-facing rooflines get it worst — they're in shade for much of the day, stay damp longer, and receive less UV light that would naturally inhibit growth. Properties near trees are particularly prone as spores spread rapidly in sheltered, moist conditions.
Does cleaning the soffit vents affect ventilation?
Quite the opposite. Soffit vents can become partially blocked by algae and debris over time, reducing airflow into the roof space. Poor roof ventilation causes condensation to build up on rafters, leading to damp and timber rot. Keeping vents clear is an important part of proper roof maintenance.
Can this be done at the same time as gutter clearing?
Yes — we regularly combine soffit and fascia cleaning with a gutter clear as part of a full roofline service. It's more efficient and better value than booking them separately. Just mention it when you get in touch and we'll quote for both together.
